Sections

General information on times and dates each Section meets is found in the Yearbook. A more detailed explanation of each Section’s activities is listed below. You may also contact the chairs for additional information. As a member of the Round Table, you are welcome to attend any Section meeting even if your name isn’t listed for that group in the Yearbook.

Bookworms -- Peggy Sevre

Bookworms will meet on Friday, June 13 at 10 am at Atria de Palma.  We will be discussing Crow Lake by Mary Lawson.  We will continue to meet during the summer months at Atria de Palma on the second Friday of the month at 10 am.  Books to be read this summer:  July, Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston; August, Easter Island by Jennifer Vanderbes: and September, Peony in Love by Lisa See.

Book sales through May have brought in $l27.33. June sales will be added to this, and all unsold books will be donated to the Placentia Library.  Thank you for your donations and purchases of books.  Happy summer reading, and we'll see you at the book table in October.

Bridgettes -- Jane Overall

This section will meet on June 11 at 9:30 at Marie Callender’s,  126 E. Yorba Linda Blvd., Placentia.  Play will be followed by lunch.

Crafts & Stitches -- Linda Schaal

Crafts and Stitches Section meets each month on the 3rd Monday at 9:30 at the Clubhouse.  June 16 will be our next meeting date.  Please mark your calendars.  We have some new fabric for backing of our quilts, and we will also be putting tags on the turtle pillows.  Bring necessary sewing tools, needle, thread, scissors, etc..  We will be stuffing heart pillows (for surgery patients), cutting, and perhaps exploring possible new projects.

Gadabouts -- Peggy Barnes & Barbara Hatch

Gadabouts will meet in front of the Placentia Library on June 30 just before our 10:00 tour time. We felt that our final Gadabouts trip should probably end in Placentia, so our choice is the Placentia Library and History Room. We will have the chance to visit it when the library is closed, therefore we can see everything and ask questions without bothering anyone.

Following our tour we plan to lunch at Paolini’s Taste of Italy Restaurant in Placentia.

Once again, thank you to all of the Round Table Members who have made our “reign" as Gadabouts Chairmen an enjoyable adventure.

Gourmet -- Carolyn Allen

Jan Sutherland will host a Sunday brunch at her house on June 8 at 11:00 a.m.  Spouses or guests are also invited.  There will be a signup sheet at the June general meeting.  Those who wish to attend will be asked to remain after the meeting to coordinate what dishes to bring.  If you wish to attend but will not be at the June meeting, please give Jan a call.

Mah Jongg -- Susan Powers

Mah Jongg will continue to meet on the 2nd and 4th Fridays at 12:30 at the Clubhouse.   Mark your calendars for June 13 and June 27. We hope to see you all there.

Nights -- Brenda Stockwell

On June 11 at 7:00 pm the Nights will be holding their annual Bunco Night at Carolyn Allen’s home.   Everyone will please bring an appetizer to share.  If any other club members would like to join us, just give Carolyn a call.

Bunco Night is our time to relax and celebrate what we have been able to do for others during the past months.  It's a great ending to a busy year.

Tech Chix -- Marilyn Pike

Tech Chix will meet on Tuesday, June 10th, at 2:00.  The meeting will be held at Marilynn Pike's home.  There will need to be some changes in the format of this section for the upcoming year.  This will be discussed at the June meeting, so hopefully all members will be there to give their input.

You know you are a Tech Chix when leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the  first 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic.
